366 Color of the day

What this site knows about you

Almost nothing, and not by generosity.

There are no accounts, no sign-in and no field anywhere that asks for anything about you. The only thing you ever send is a month and a day, and that arrives as part of the address of the page you asked for.

01

No cookies, and not as a favour

This site sets no cookies at all, which is why you will never see a consent banner on it. That is an architectural constraint rather than a promise: a single cookie would make the edge cache step aside on every request, so the day pages are served by a pipeline that has no session in it and cannot set one.

02

What is counted

Visits are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no cross-site identifier. Separately the site counts how many day pages are opened, tagged by language only. It is deliberately not tagged by date, because a list of which dates people look up would be a record of birthdays, and collecting less is the only decision that stays reversible.

03

What passes through anyway

Your request reaches Cloudflare and then the server behind it, so your address is handled in transit exactly as it is on every other website, and it appears in server logs. Nothing is sold, shared or sent anywhere else. The daily posts to Instagram and Telegram are published by the site itself and read nothing from anyone visiting it.

04

Whose colors these are

The 366 colors and their names are generated by this project and belong to it. They are not taken from, translated out of, or derived from any existing published set of birthday or calendar colors. The formula that produces them is written out in full on the About page, which is the shortest way to prove it.
